Thanks for taking the time to consider my post. I have done my best to write a description of the apartment, post representative photos and introduce myself. If after reading and considering you have any questions, please do not hesitate to pose them.
I am an American woman from Chicago. I have an AMAZING 915 sq ft (85m2) natural light-filled SECURE loft which I enjoy sharing. It is situated in Paris’ popular, GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD : OBERKAMPF . (If you know Chicago, think Milwaukee/Damen/North Ave). I lived in 4 different Paris neighborhoods before finding this RARE LOFT apartment. In addition to Chicago, I lived and worked in Miami and New York before moving to Paris over 13 years ago. I love living here!
I am a well-travelled, busy, independent professional. Formerly a television/radio host/reporter, I teach/coach English/Journalism with French professionals. I am pretty discreet and quiet and I LOVE MUSIC — all kinds.
About YOUR SPACE and the apartment:
A LUXURIOUS amount of open, naturally-lit space, the 915sf/85m2 apartment which we share occupies the entire third/top floor. We sleep on haute gamme, high-quality futons; very comfie! Yours is in the lofted, open-mezzanine seen in the photo with the ladder. This bedroom is situated above the kitchen, in the upper-corner of the main space. It measures 8x10ft x 4ft high . . . 2.5m x 3.10m x 1.22m high. IT IS A LARGE, COMFORTABLE SLEEPING SPACE. You will also have your own work space and table on the main floor of the loft, which we otherwise share in it’s entirety. You also have use of a pull-out futon in the main space if you wish to invite a guest to stay overnight. You will have the full double bathroom for yourself – shower and FULL-SIZED TUB! The apartment is fully equipped, including washing machine. I provide your bed linens and towels. Secured Bike storage.
One-minute walk to metro station Rue Saint Maur – Line 3, three minutes walk to the multi-cultural, animated, late night restaurants, bars and galleries of Oberkampf. Walk to various Paris outdoor markets 6/7 days per week. “Velib” bike rental stand 30 seconds outside the front door (part of public transit system).
High-speed internet, WIFI and phone landline, which includes free calls to the US.
For long-term, rent, tax d’habitation and utilities are paid monthly in cash. The average TOTAL is approximately 980Ã¢â€šÂ¬ month each. I am not making money on my long-term roommates; we share expenses 50/50. I will show you current bills. Naturally, the heating bill is higher in the winter and I will show you examples of those bills, too.
